Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY~April 16, 2012
Outside my window... Wet and windy.  It's been like that since Saturday night.  We are thankful that we have been spared what the central states are going through with tornado's.
I am thinking...about next year's curriculum for the kiddo's.
From the learning room...Sweetcheeks is doing mostly review with lots of cut and paste (which she loves!).  Sport is finishing up his geometry chapter in math, learning more about the Psalms, the circulatory system, George Washington, and lots of practice on spelling!
I am thankful for...my messy house!  If I have a grateful heart, I won't mind the floor that needs to be vacuumed, or the toys all over, or the messy fingerprints on the windows.  I'm thankful for the family who lives here and makes those messes!
From the kitchen...I'm embarrassed to say "I don't know"!  I didn't get to the grocery store this weekend, and won't be making it there today either, so it is a pantry pulling meal for supper~~I'll be pulling things out of the pantry to make a meal.  It's a good way to clean out the pantry and save money also!
I am wearing...jean skirt and black short~sleeved shirt
I am creating...some blankets for our local hospital
I am going...to make some final plans this week about subject choices for next year!
I am reading... Bible~going through the New testament in 90 days with our church
I am praying...for our church family, for wisdom and discernment in many area's of life
I am hearing...nothing but the wind outside
Around the house...couple of loads of laundry, and getting the house in order after a crazy weekend!
One of my favorite things...flowers coming up and displaying pretty new colors after a dull winter
A few plans for the rest of the week...homeschool co~op tomorrow afternoon, but that is about all as we are trying to cut back on outside appointments so we can catch up on school work.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Children Are A Blessing

I have recently found the Moore Family Films site and am excited about the films they are producing.  We are interested in all their films, but there were two that we knew we really wanted to watch.  One of them is "Children are a Blessing".

This month, the Moore family is graciously allowing free viewing of this movie on their website.  The Moore family tells about how they came to their decision to allow God to plan their family, and they discuss the joys of having a large family.  You will also follow them as they welcome their 10th child into their family.  It was such a great movie to watch, I've watched it twice already!  I would like to order the DVD because there are bonus features on the DVD, and they have a sale on it at their site.  I also want to order the Moss Family DVD as that looks like another great movie.  I hope you will be blessed by watching this film.  I truly enjoy seeing God~fearing families raise up their children.

Have a great day!

Blessings,

Real Life...Cough, Cough, Sniffle

THIS....is what my life looked like last week.  Actually, there should be about 4 boxes of tissues in the picture also.  It started mildly enough, with only one child coughing and sniffling.  But as it goes in large families, one turns to two, then three, then before you know it, the entire family has it!  Thankfully, it was mild for a few of the kiddo's, and short for myself and hubby.  We did need to take Sunshine to ER one night as he woke up unable to breathe.  That was quite scary watching your child fighting for breaths.  He had pneumonia, and after some breathing treatments and meds, we were able to bring him back home and he was feeling MUCH better.  He was even flirting with the nurses!  I felt like a pharmacist, dispensing medication to different children at different times of the day!

Thankfully, we are all on the mend....just a few stuffy noses and a couple of lingering coughs left.  It is a perfect reminder not to take your health for granted!

Have a great day!
