He Knows My Name

"But now thus says the Lord,  he who created you, O Jacob,
    he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
    I have called you by name, you are mine."  Isaiah 43:1

We have a 3 year old who likes to come up to us and say "I love you, Mommy (Daddy)".   How we respond to this makes a big difference to this child.

If we just say "I love you, too", he will look at us and say "No, say I Love you too, Sunshine".  (Actually he uses his real name there☺)  He insists that we use his name when we say that we love him.  He does this every time!  He loves to hear us to call him by name.

I imagine this is how it will be when I am face to face with my heavenly father.  I will say "I love you, Daddy", and he will reply with "I love you too, Jessica".  How I will love to hear Him call me by name.

He knows your name, too!  And He loves you, too!

Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

  1. What a powerful thought! I just started a 14 day series about God's love on my blog, and have just been blown away by all the descriptions of God's love that are recorded for us in the Bible. Knowing someone by name is so simple, but for God to know my name - it's amazing to think about :) Happy Friday!

  2. That is beautiful and so true. I remember being told a long time ago to try and remember everyone's name and when you meet them say, "Hi Jessica,"

    And so thankful that we know His Name - and Names.
    Blessings to you,
