It's HERE!!

We finally received our curriculum in the mail for homeschooling our oldest son!  We are all so excited to start....well maybe excited is only on my part.  As my son said..."this has to be the longest Christmas vacation ever!"  I think he's getting a little to used to it!

I must confess that once I opened the teacher's manuals, I started thinking "what was I thinking?"  "What have we done?"  "This was a very bad idea!"  But I am trying not to let those thoughts take over my mind.  There are many homeschooling families out there that have walked this path before me and with me.  There are many in our little community and I am really looking forward to meeting them later this month.  I have lots of questions.  But one of the joys of homeschooling is we can make it whatever we want it to be.  My son and I have already jotted down a "tentative" schedule and we'll see how things go.  I'll keep you posted!!

Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

  1. You are going to do awesome! Like you said, one of the joys of homeschooling is making it what you want. If something isn't working for you, don't hesitate to try something else. Do what works for you! Blessings!

  2. Rod and Staff, thses are the same books I use with my 6th and 8th graders. The Engish is intense and I'm learning things I don't think I ever learned in the public school that I went to. I love how the Christian life is incorporated into all of their curriculum.

  3. Isn't it funny that curriculum-opening can be like Christmas?

You'll enjoy every moment...at least most of them. I've been homeschooling my 14yo since the beginning, and was a blessing every day, even the hard ones..

    Blessings,
